About the event

The Defining Moments by Ms Wendy Luhabe is in line with our Vision & theme of the 2024 IDEAL Leadership Summit of " Empowering The Future", #thefuture.

The book unpacks three decades spanning from the 70' to 2000's for black professionals in corporate S.A. From the era when black managers started appearing in corporates like the late Madala Mphahlele, era of 80's when there was an increase of black managers in corporate SA & emergence of black women like Connie Nkosi ( first black woman to obtain MBA) & Maruna Maponya ( first black woman to sit on corporate boards of SA) to the 90's which pioneered the democracy & emergence of economic empowerment with likes of WIPHOLD, NAIL, NOZALA as black economic empowerment investment companies. The challenges faced by black professionals & executives has not changed much but the author will be able to share those challenges faced three or five decades ago and provide practical tools of how to navigate those challenges. We will also be able to articulate current challenges and how to tackle those challenges & redefining the future given structural shifts or changes of our political and economic landscape
